PLEASE SEE OUR COMPANION HISTORIES

  • Built in 1955 on Lot 10 in Tract 18106
  • Original commissioner: retired Chevrolet dealer Gordon Warren
  • Architect: Cejay Parsons
  • The Department of Building and Safety issued Gordon Warren a permit for a 2,840-square-foot residence with attached garage at 241 Rimpau Boulevard, in the street's new cul-de-sac, on August 23, 1955
  • Longtime Chevrolet dealer Gordon Warren opened his namesake agency on developing Hollywood Boulevard in 1923. (Between Bronson Avenue and Gower Street, the business became Lew Williams Chevrolet after Warren's retirement in 1954. The site is now home to a Toyota dealership.) Warren and his wife Teresa Terrazas Harrison Warren had occupied 334 Rimpau Boulevard from 1942 until the early 1950s; it is unclear as to whether Warren owned or rented 334. In 1952 the Warrens moved into a new apartment building at 10401 Wilshire Boulevard in Westwood, the couple soon deciding to move back to Hancock Park. Warren died suddenly following a heart attack at home on Wilshire Boulevard on November 22, 1955, just two months after the initial building permit for 241 Rimpau Boulevard was issued. A permit for a swimming pool at 241 Rimpau was issued posthumously to him on November 29; Teresa Warren remained at 241 for several years after the house was completed
