- On March 16, 1959, the Department of Building and Safety issued Helen Faries a permit for a one-story, 3,070-square-foot residence with attached garage at 236 Rimpau Boulevard
- Helen Faries was the widow of Los Angeles attorney David Reid Faries, who died in 1944. Mrs. Faries was moving to 236 Rimpau from 508 North Las Palmas Avenue in Hancock Park, which she and her husband had moved into in 1928
- Mrs. Faries died at 78 on September 11, 1968
- The house was enlarged with a 459-square-foot two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath addition in 2010 per a permit issued by the Department of Building and Safety on May 25 of that year
